iHate

I am just going to come out and say it.  I hate iTunes with a level of seething fury that borders on pathological. While I am willing to acknowledge that some of the problem may be user error, it is just such a damn fiasco every singe time I try to use the software.

First there are the updates.  No matter if you last used it a year ago or a minute ago, when you open the program it wants to update.  This inevitably takes 15-20 minutes and requires a restart of your computer.

Now you have NEW! iTunes that operates nothing like the version you are used to and had hidden all the key functionality commands to make the process "easier."  Pro-tip: if I can't find what I am looking for because all the menus are hidden, then the "coolness" of the buttons is moot.

Apparently, and again this may be my mistake, unless you want to pay a yearly fee for a service to sync all your stuff electronically, you cannot sync your stuff automatically.  Even though everything you buy is held in cyber-space, in one spot, you cannot access it  (at that spot) from all your devices unless you pay for the privilege.   Currently, if I buy something on my iPhone I have to manually move it to my computer iTunes then onto my iPod.  It is 2013, this seems stupid.

No, I don't want you to be my default player and no matter how many times you click the "don't show this again" box, it always shows up.  Why would I ever want to make my default media player a program that requires 20 minutes of updating every single time I open it?

So yeah.  I love my iPhone.  I love my iPod.  I really want an iPad.  However, I despise the software I have to use to enjoy those things.  Maybe this is why I am a PC girl at heart...I am the better idiot that evolved in response to Apple's "user friendly" software.  Now, we are all kind of stuck with it since no one else has really cornered the MP3 player/tablet like Apple, but goddess have mercy, 45 minutes to get three new songs on my iPod just seems a bit much.
